At my daughter’s international school in Italy, there are some teachers from the US, and I’ve come to realise that they use the word ‘quiz’ the same way we use ‘test’ in British English.
But for us in the UK a quiz, is not something that teachers give at school, but something more fun, like a ‘pop quiz’ in a pub, or a TV gameshow.
Anyway, so the purpose of this post is for it to be a quiz of the British variety!
Below I have chosen ten of the most popular Bible verses of all time. The idea is; can you tell what the English Bible verse is, from reading the Italian? (scroll further down for some clues).
Non angustiatevi per nulla, ma in ogni necessità esponete a Dio le vostre richieste, con preghiere, suppliche e ringraziamenti;
mi danno sicurezza.Non temere, perché io sono con te;

My Favourite Italian Learning Podcast
I just signed up to take a language test for permanent residency in Italy. In preparation, I’ve been trying to spend more time learning Italian, and I wanted to share this podcast I have been listening to Slow Stories in Italian with Elena. It’s hosted by a woman who tells stories about her life, slowly and simply in Italian, and then with English translation. I absolutely love it, as it’s simple yet entertaining.
I also like Coffee Break Italian - but when I listen to that one I feel like I need to take notes and give it my full attention. What I love about Elena’s podcast is I can listen to it when I want to relax, or when I’m doing stuff around the house, and I still feel like I’m learning even if my attention is drifting in and out.

1 out of 10 for me (# 4 “In the beginning…”) - the year of Latin that I did in my first year of high school, …some 50+ years ago now, is finally paying dividends!
